ACTIVITIES – EXCURSIONS

Hafslo provides great conditions for outdoor- and recreational activities. There are plenty of opportunities for pleasant walks in the mountains, both for those who are very fit and for those who are not. If you are interested in fishing, this is definitely the place for you! The Hafslo Lake has nice mountain trout, perfect for barbecuing at the cabin!

During the winter, Sogn Skisenter is the perfect place for all ski enthusiasts. With great cross-country ski tracks, the ski lift and several nice downhill slopes with different effort levels. There are also a skiing area with a free lift, for the children.

Hafslo is an excellent starting point for excursions. Within one hour drive you can find a diverse range of options.

In Jostedalen, the Nigard Glacier and Breheimsenteret (National Park Visitor Centre) are places to stop. Here you may also take guided glacier walks with Jostedalen Breførarlag. If you prefer a more quite walk in glacier scenery, you can take a trip to Veitastrond and the Austerdal Glacier. At Tungestølen there is a tourist hut where you get great service.

Jotunheimen is not far away either. One hour drive alongside the beautiful Lustrafjorden, and some exciting turns upwards, and you are high up in the mountains! New Turtagrø Hotell is worth a visit. From here you can set eyes on some of the highest mountains in the country, and for those who wish to do so, you may take walks in the mountains.

Urnes Stave Church is the oldest stave church in the country. After a ten minutes drive, followed by a ten minutes boat trip, you are there.

In Solvorn we recommend a visit to Walaker Hotel and Galleri Walaker. Additionally, in Solvorn you find a nice beach which is full of people swimming and sunbathing during summer. 

The Heiberg Collections in Kaupanger is a museum with several nice exhibitions and displays and with an exciting outdoor area. Here you will find something for every taste.

At the Norwegian Wild Salmon Centre in Lærdal you can learn the history about salmon fishing in the Lærdal River. Furthermore, you get to know more about the life of the Atlantic salmon. And this through a great movie!

Sogndal is the nearest town to Hafslo. Here you’ll find Sogningen Storsenter, a shopping mall that provides everything you need.

Here you also find hotels, restaurants, cinema and pubs.
